- Ride duration: Up to 15 minutes
Draw cold, clean air into your lungs and shuffle slowly to the edge of a 35-metre tall mountain, staring down into the abyss with its tendrils of grey mist, rising slowly from a tropical canopy. Shrouded in fecund green tangles running riotous up its length, the Cloud Forest cools fevered climbs up twin walkways with the gentle spray of the world’s highest indoor waterfall, providing the ideal escape from Singapore’s concrete landscape. Walls wear the guise of dainty ferns, carnivorous plants, and a kaleidoscope of tiny blooms, seducing botanists and tree-huggers who then drift spellbound through its premises, sighing reverently over the abundance of highland vegetation stitched into the pores of nine carefully curated zones.
Move away from the chilly temperate of lush alps and into Mediterranean settings, as the glass walls of the Flower Dome bathes you in golden sunlight. Its shell-like exterior houses an eternal array of plants from arid climes, transporting its visitors to foreign locales like South Africa, Spain, and Italy with deep breaths of the potent floral scent that wafts through the chamber. Ponder the meaning of longevity in front of the millennial olive tree, or run fingers over the wrinkled bark of the African baobab, a gentle giant with a weight that surpasses 32 tons.
- Opening hours: 9.30am - 9.30pm (last admission: 8.30pm)
